Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded by each of the member states annually. Amounts and qualifications vary by state.
The specifics for each state are listed below. All applications must be submitted by July 1, 2011 for all states. Scholarships will be awarded on August 1, 2011.

Arkansas
2 scholarships of $500 each will be awarded for post secondary or vocational education.
Who is eligible?
- Scholarship open to employees of NATO of Arkansas member theatres only.
Spouses/children of theatre owners are ineligible.
- Applicants must be currently employed at the operations level of member
theatres and have been employed for a minimum of one year.
- Applicants must have worked for a minimum of 500 hours during
the year of eligibility.
- Scholarships are merit based, with a minimum GPA requirement of 2.5
from transcript of last school/college attended.
- Only those applicants who enroll in at least 12 college hours or 12 units
per semester/quarter will qualify.
- Applicants must be residents of the state of Arkansas.
- Prior scholarship recipients/applicants are eligible each year.
- Scholarship money will be sent to accredited college/university/trade school
and not given directly to the student.
Application Process
- Applicant must supply all of the following in one packet, postmarked no later
than July 1, 2011 to the scholarship Committee:
1. Transcript showing a 2.5 average during the previous year.
2. Owner, management, or immediate supervisor verification of hours
worked and length of employment.
3. Recommendation from a teacher/professor. If not currently enrolled
in school, applicant may provide a recommendation from professional in any
field of interest, but may not be a personal friend or relative.
4. One page typed answer to essay question on back page.
- Recipients will be notified by August 1, 2011.
- All decisions by the Scholarship Committee are final.
Louisiana
1 scholarship of $750 will be awarded for post secondary or vocational education.
Who is eligible?
- Scholarships are open to L.A.T.O. member theatres only.
- Applicants who are currently at the field operations level of a member
theatre and must have been employed for a minimum of one year.
- Applicants must have worked for a minimum of 500 hours during
the year of eligibility.
- Applicants are either high school seniors, matriculated college
undergraduates, or trade school students.
- Scholarships will be merit based, with a minimum GPA
requirement of 2.5.
- Only those applicants who enroll in at least three classes or 9 units
per semester/quarter will qualify.
- Applicants must be residents of the state of Louisiana.
- Applicants must be eligible of rehire.
- Prior scholarship recipients are eligible.
Application Process
- Applicant must supply all of the following, postmarked no later than July 1,
2011:
1. Transcript showing a 2.5 average during the previous year.
2. Owner, management, or immediate supervisor verification of hours
worked and length of employment.

- Applicants must have worked for a minimum of 400 hours during
the year of eligibility.
- Applicants are either high school seniors, matriculated college
undergraduates, or trade school students.
- Scholarships will be merit based, with a minimum GPA
requirement of 2.5.
- Only those applicants who enroll in at least three classes or 9 units
per semester/quarter will qualify.
- Applicants must be residents of the state of Oklahoma.
- Applicants must be eligible of rehire.
- Prior scholarship recipients are eligible.
